A Riot of Colour…

We have a lot of trees at Footlights.

Some of them are cedars, others live oaks, a few are deciduous and I expected them to wow us with their coppers and golds!

I was expecting a blaze of color to scatter across the acreage but Autumn seemed to drag its feet this year on Rigsby Lane and by the time the russet and reds showed up, elsewhere, my trees were bare from the wind and storms having turned an unremarkable brown before curling up and falling.

Last week though, we were rewarded with a couple of brilliant, fiery, explosions along the farm to market road, that had me…

Smiling behind the sprawling pampas grasses…

And enjoying the pastoral effect of horses grazing beneath the rapidly changing Bradford pears… clearly unaware of the riot of color dancing above their heads!

I snapped away as we headed into town,

Swept up in the majesty of God’s glory against a cerulean sky.
