College Student Mum…

My children are tickled that their Mum is a college student, albeit for a few short hours, and brag about me to their friends and colleagues.  I brag about them too, but for different reasons.

I brag because most of my disapproving relatives have done a complete turnaround as far as supporting my decision, a lifetime ago, to homeschool.  Hindsight is such an eye opener isn’t it?

My mother-in-law said to her son,

“You have done such a wonderful job with your children.”

Yes, hubs did a wonderful job.

My children all graduated from college and are working in their fields.  Whatever I misguidedly did, worked!

I inspired my offspring and gave of my time to ensure they had the tools for success: a love of learning and a passion for their futures.

My children brag because they think it’s…funny.

“No, it’s great Mum, but do you really need to go to college?”  Their smiles are really big!

On completing university, a long, long time ago, I told my parents,

“I’m finished with education.  I will never go back to college!”

In their lifetimes I kept to my word.  Now they have crossed the bridge I am dabbling my toes in higher education. Not that I hadn’t been learning alongside my children all these years, I had.

My children think I know it all.  My mind had been dug over, fertilized and watered.

I had to find out how to manage my Word Press website and the local community college was offering a class.
