Funyun Day…

Quite a few years ago I was pregnant for the first time and so naturally I had a Due Date.

Things happened, or should I say, things didn’t happen.

My due date came and went…

Just like that!

So I carried on with my life, which at the time was as a busy phone centre manager for Ticketmaster.

My due date became every day, hour, minute, second…

Your guess was as good as mine as far as when this bundle of joy would relent and show itself.

I didn’t even know if it was going to be a little boy…

Or a little girl…

But as each day closed I comforted myself with the thought that I was a day closer to meeting… it…

And my bones creaked with the extra weight!

Four days later things began to happen, very, very early in the morning!

I spent all day in hospital breathing like I’d never breathed before,

Gritting my teeth,

Clenching my fists and generally fighting and encouraging…whoever it was…to come along!

After fifteen hours of watching graphs and monitors and rolling my eyes my ObGyn came in and said,

“Shall I go and get it?”

“What took you so long?”  I gasped, exhausted and ready for a nap.

Ninety minutes later my bundle of joy breathed his first.

Yes, IT was a BOY!

My first born who blazed the trail for all my future babies who (thanks to Ian Christopher’s tardiness),

Were blessed with due dates that I could actually set my watch by, if I wore one!

Somewhere along the line my oldest convinced us that he needed a gift to mark the occasion-of-his-expected-entry-into-the-world,

And that is the story of how Funyuns became

The Gift of the Due Date…

Happy Funyun Day Ian!

Funyuns

We manage it from anywhere in the world!

BooYa!
