Happy Valentine’s Day…

Trees

At dinner with friends last night they were talking about re-opening their winery,

“Isn’t it a bit early in the season?” I asked, “It’s still freezing cold!”

“Well, it’s Valentine’s weekend!”

“It is?”

How did that blow right past me?

So, for all you romantics out there and because it’s the first Sunday in Lent

Here’s my children’s version of St. Paul’s 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Love has lots of time, it does not rush things or people,

Love is soft, gentle, friendly and sweet.

Valentine2

Love is happy to be me,

Love does not show off or only talk about itself.

Love keeps quiet at what it is good at,

Love will not stay angry forever,

Love does not rejoice when someone gets in trouble,

Love is real.

Valentine3

Love can always be depended on to do what is right,

Love never gives up on others,

Love keeps going,

Love is always there when you need it even if you don’t deserve it.

Love gently corrects wrong doings,

Love does not call names or hit people,

Valentine4

Love does not only think of me.

Love is happy.

On this charming day have another read of those verses 1 Corinthians 13:4-8

And know that I love all of you who are part of my life today.

And that you are loved by God.

Valentine
