When I take my afternoon walks my eyes do the praying for me.
There is no need for me to mumble my litanies, all I have to do is pay attention to the fields I’m passing through,
the wild flowers,
the snow on the prairie that tickles the bulls’ ankles,
the trees providing much needed shade,
especially my favorite wild pecan spreading its branches, tall and familiar,
a landmark (now I am more countryfied)
and majestic reminder that the earth is the Lord’s and all that is in it. (Psalm24)
Psalm 96:11-12 sings out for me,
Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad…
Let the field be joyful, and all that is in it: then shall all the trees of the wood rejoice before the Lord.
And I caught this picture with my ever present iPhone.
Nothing can compare to nature proclaiming God’s and I feel cherished.
Amen.
