Natural Flocking…

Hubs and I suffered with mild ill health for the first 8 weeks of our arrival in England, home for me.

It was a cruel mixture of cough and cold germs brought unwittingly into the flat by Daughts, allergies turned viral and stress from the massive move we made just days before re-locating, for the second time in two years, back to the flat in London with bare bones furniture and no kitchen utensils.

Early on I managed to get some medicine for something unrelated to my chest cold which, according to my doctor, was getting better but as I was finishing the magic ‘cillin course another round of wind blew in and the blossom congregated on the ground like confetti

playing havoc with my breathing and carrying with it other air borne germs the blame for which I could not, with a clear conscience, lay at the feet of Daughts this time.

Finally, our malaise blurred to a not too distant memory and for the last week I  have been taking the air walking and breathing deeply in my favourite haunts.  Once again I was able to enjoy nature, a pretty half of a duck’s eggshell,

a snail on the prowl,

and a tree covered path strewn with what looked like the fine wool from a sheep’s shearing,

the fir tree above looked as though it was decorated for Christmas with flock au natural.

and look at the holly!

I picked up a strand of the delicate blossom or seed bearing cotton and brought it home, its beauty with the young feathers of the growing geese, caught in a piece of willow tree bark.
