PerriPoppins’ Birthday…

Twenty-seven years ago I was all ready to meet you!

I’d re-done the nursery, hanging pink heart shaped pillows on the wall, changing the jungle print curtains to frothy lace and transforming the crib with sugar and spice and all things nice.

Hubs had been home on a break from the BeeGee’s world tour for a few days and we were all set for your grand entrance…

You were born amidst celebrations in the streets,

Illuminated by fireworks commemorating the 200th anniversary of Bastille Day in Paris,

And announcing your first day of life, my first daughter named after the city where Hubs and I fell in love six years before.

Tiny, with a mop of dark hair and large brown eyes you stole my heart and the hearts of your brothers who were the first to call you Parsis… among other names which have stood the test of time,

Twinkle Toes, Periwinkle and…

Baby-Legs!

As you learned to crawl, then walk, then run you showed an empathy for others that you eventually turned into a career looking after children, earning you a new name,

Perri-Poppins!

Although you are now a beautiful young woman,
