PerriWinkle’s Birthday….

Paris2

Last week, 25 years ago, I was ready for hubs to come home from the Bee-Gee’s tour and help me out for the last few days of carrying my Perriwinkle around!

I was so excited, she was to be my first girl; the sugar and spice I had been waiting for since our honeymoon in Rome where we decided to call our first daughter, Rome…

…oops no, Paris…

Where we fell in love!

My only bling was a pin spelling out her name in faux diamonds and silver.  I wore it throughout my pregnancy because I knew who was living beneath my heart.

I gained about 24 lbs and she weighed in at 7!

My favourite things to eat while I was carrying my precious bundle were fish and tangerines!

Her favorite foods, once weaned from the bottle, were peanut butter and jelly, pancakes and syrup, chili-dogs, or Alfredo pizza!

Occasionally sushi and salad will show up on her plate now she’s older.

My legs and ankles and joints had swollen and my body was ready for the release date which was today, 25 years ago!

At last I was to meet the other heartbeat that sang with mine.

On the 200th anniversary of Bastille Day 1989 I got up, had a shower…

…and then a baby at about 8am.

Apart from turning yellow and having problems breathing for a few hours she was all things nice and the answer to my dream, a beautiful, baby girl.

Paris has grown into an attractive woman who can take life and squeeze every last drop of fun out of it!!

Paris

I bless each day she shares this world with me, even if she is in a different State right now!

Oh and I have to apologise!!!

Last year I promised I’d be with her on her birthday this year…

Soooorrrrryyyyy!

Somehow I’m in Florida instead, living the life of an empty nester in a house on stilts alongside a lovely canal with two great dogs who aren’t bugging me to take them out to dinner!

Paris, I love you, love you, love you…FOREVER!

Happy Birthday!
