My son and his wife have an Education Permit that allows them to keep native birds for educational use.
These birds come under government control so don’t get any ideas, you can’t keep them without a permit.
Added to their blue winged macaws, rose breasted cockatoo and four chickens they now have,
A magnificent Red Tailed Hawk,
Saphira is her name,
And the star of the show in my book,
An Eastern Screech Owl,
named Pigwidgeon.
Here he is cleaning his beak (called feaking in bird-handler-talk) after a delicious morsel of mouse,
Go and pay them a visit at Window to the Wild and if you feel inclined, support them!

As a homeschooling Mum I have finally quit the job of role model and mentor to my four children. I do what I want to do, eat when I feel like it, enjoy life with my blue eyed cowboy and clean my house once a month or so whether it needs it or not!
