Thanksgiving…

I love the teachings that I get from my yoga classes.

And before you think I’m going all New Age on you, most of what I hear from my instructors is deeply steeped in Christian thought.  You just have to keep your eyes and ears open and notice.

So, here’s the latest bit of wisdom:

Those of us who practice gratitude are found to be happier.

Now pop over to Girlfriendit and look at what those Christian ladies have to say!

It’s not happy people who are thankful.

It’s thankful people who are happy!

I started a Gratitude Journal.

This is where, at the end of the day, or the middle, or anytime, especially if something great or not so great has befallen me,  I sit down and write a few grateful words about the experience.

Some times I am challenged by the event but I try to find the sweetness buried deep on the inside.  Rather like finding Jesus in some of our neighbours!

I write in a little blank book (no lines), so I can get creative and wander all over the page, colour outside the lines (because there are none) and generally go where the pencil takes me.

No boundaries!

I will keep it for thirty days and see what it brings forth.

How about being thankful or grateful for more than one day a year, with me?
