Visiting Los Angeles…

We went to visit oldest son in L.A. to celebrate his birthday…

How can I possibly have a 31 year old child…

When I’m only 39 myself?

Luckily, because all our children and their friends are pretty much keeping up with each other when it comes to the passing of time, we were fortunate enough to be able to stay in one of his friend’s apartments while she stayed with someone else.

It was tucked into a neighborhood, on the ground floor and gated.

Situated very close to the freeway it was also very noisy compared to our country living.

She assured us that we could leave the windows open, since there wasn’t central air conditioning. and enjoy the breeze.

She failed to tell us that L.A. wakes up very early!

The following morning I looked out into the courtyard, as we were leaving to explore for the day, and saw all the upstairs windows flung open to the sunny morning,

“They must feel pretty safe,” observed Hubs.

“But notice, none of the ground floor windows are open,” I remarked.

From then on we made sure our windows were safely battened down for the night only leaving them open when we were there.
