Going to the Beach…

Part of arriving home after a baker’s dozen of months abroad is the visiting and catching up that needs to be done.  That is as long as we are up to it!  For some reason both of us lost our voices which halted all thing to do with talking!

So we have spent a lot of time at home cleaning, moving furniture, and spending money!  That’s always easy isn’t it?  Click and ship!

Last weekend we were to visit the mother-in-law in Lindale but she got wind of our voice challenges, something to do with a whispered call from her blue eyed son, and nixed the visit.

This weekend we are visiting our teacher daughter who lives by the sea.  Of course, here we are in July, height of the bikini season and the cost of condos and hotels, even tents on the beach (I don’t think so!!)  are prohibitive so I had a brain wave and sent this gem of an email to her,

Dearest, Cutest, Bestest, Most Beautifullest, Winks,

Papa and I are thinking about coming down to Corpus the weekend after next when he is a whole year older, wiser and handsomer… (birthday boy July 30th!)

In view of the high cost of seasonal property by the seaside we wondered if we could kip on your bed for a few nights while you share with Thumper? (her rabbit)

That way we can spend all the hundreds of dollars we’ll save, on YOU!!!

Being the presumptuous parentals we are we thought you’d be semi-ok with us moving in?  Imagine the groceries, home cooked brekkies, dinners out, card games and laughter we can enjoy in 350 sq feet!!

We could stay Friday night, Saturday, Sunday and head out on Monday or even stay on Monday if we haven’t split our sides telling knock-knock jokes or broken a wrist playing Speed!  There is no rush to get back to Garland…we just want to have FUN!!

Anyway let me know if that’s something you could handle?  Otherwise we may have to camp on the beach…which could mean sand between our toes!

Love you,

Mumsie Umsie Pajumsie xx

Her response:

Dear Presumptuous Parentals,

No sandy toes allowed.  Let the games begin!

Love Perripooh.

We’re going to the beach tomorrow.
