Last year the farmers grew field upon field of golden hay…
I thought it was wheat until they cut and baled it. I don’t think wheat gets baled!
It caught the sun and made everything look pastorally idyllic.
Almost like England in this large American state.
This year they planted a different crop that Hubs thought at first was soy.
Now it has grown up a bit we can see the corn silk quite clearly.
The changes in our surrounding fields are so lovely to watch…
These farmers own thousands of acres and their task is a never ending one
that now we are quasi landowners we are better able to appreciate the labour that goes into working the soil.
