So He Thinks I Can Dance…

My daughter was so happy today she had to reach us to share her news.

She tried my iPod first but I wasn’t there, I’d gone walking.

Then she tried Skype, but I wasn’t there either, still walking and Pops was out of earshot!

So she had no choice but to pick up the phone, which she had in her hand anyway because that’s how she does all those other electronic functions!

When she finally heard my voice she said,

“Thanks for ignoring me…”  All my children say this because I’ve spoiled them by always being available!

When I come up with excuses and alibis, they say,

“Just kidding!” as Malia was saying now!  I’d just walked in the door.

“I’ll get on Skype,” I say as I hang up the phone.

Move It is an amazing festival of dance in the UK at London’s Olympia in Earl’s Court.  She has already been picked to be in one number and today she was picked to be in two more by Britain’s 2011 winner of ‘So You Think You Can Dance.’

Big news, big deal and a coup for her CV!

All the girls at college were pulling out every trick in the book to get him to notice that they too could dance well enough to be picked.

One of the dances was a tap number and my youngest is a ballerina who would look absolutely brilliant standing stock still on stage, dressed in sackcloth and bathed in a spotlight.

Her pointe shoe trained feet can tap impressively, but who’s watching them?  It’s her graceful body, big hair and wide mouthed smile that dominates the studio.  Her glowing face embodies her Lone Star State personality where everything is bigger, better and louder!

She was among those chosen by this tapping winner of Britain’s most popular dance show!!

Now we’re going to have to buy tickets to Move It…

The stars at night, are big and bright…deep in the heart of Texas.
