Wet Walk…A Dog Tale

In Turkey Creek and the surrounding countryside,

at around about the same time every day, thunder  clouds roll in and the heavens open up to let loose an impressive quantity of  water,

WetWalk2

the downpour can last for hours.

I sit on one of the porches and take in the thunder and lightening, the noisy and showy display that cools the air and puts the compressor out of a job.

If the crazies we share this house-on-stilts with need a walk we have to take them out because they’ve got to make room for din-dins.

Four times a day they mark territory, assert top-doggedness and chase cats.

Rain,

…or shine!

Anytime…

As stand-in owners we are called to go with them because they’re not allowed out by themselves, something to do with fellow critters,

Opossums, armadillos, squirrels, Gopher tortoises, cows…

…alligators!

The two of them give me the perfect excuse to go splashing around in water,

outside!

WetWalk

Dogs release my inner child!
