Morning Frenzy…

There was a frenzy in my house this morning.

It’s winter so my Venus Razor has been allowed to hibernate quietly on the soap dish in my shower.

Until this morning that is!

Armed with a new blade I tackled my legs and almost ran out of hot water and clogged the drain.

I knew I should have had a bath, but ugh!  The thought of all those little hairs getting God knows where took away the glamourous lure of a luxurious, frothy, soak.

Silky smooth are what my legs are now.  All that’s missing is a healthy tan.

I may have been lacking in depilatory skills through the cold months but I have taken advantage of warm socks and other foot coverings to lavish weekly pedicures with clippers, files and pumice, on my, now near perfect, not dancer, feet.

For me this is the only time of year to keep my feet silky-soft.  I liberally moisturise then swaddle them in cosy and practical socks all day long!  Hubs draws the line at night but my electric blanket keeps my tootsies warm.

All my nails are au natural, I use a gentle buffer because my fingernails are allergic to acetone and nail polish.  Not my toe nails though!

Today I decided they need an extra boost of colour so I broke out the polish and praise the Lord it hadn’t solidified in its bottle through the dark months.

I swished on a subtle pink and voila, even without a tan the nether reaches of my long limbs are sandal ready.

But it’s not sandals that have spurred this frenzy of action this morning.

Last night on leaving church we were asked at the door, by the priest, if we would be prepared to come forward tonight for the foot washing?

I could not bare my winter legs and unpolished toes on the main altar this evening as our priest takes on the servant role of Christ by washing a sampling of willing feet as part of our Maundy Thursday service.

No-one will notice but God and I will know…
