A Squirrel Came-a-Knocking…

I heard a scrabbling behind me in my office.

I ignored it.  We live on a creek and the back forty is always spewing up critters from the undergrowth.

The scrabbling became frantic.  Ever alert for fodder for possible blog entries I finally turned around on my swivel chair to see what was making the racket.

Ys, that’s a squirrel you’re seeing hanging off my screen in the office.  She was trying to find a way in, I just know it.

Hubs has done a really good job at blocking all access to our house used in previous years.  It looked as if this one was trying the more traditional route, through the sliding screen door, or close to it!

Daughts said,

“It must be one of last year’s babies from the chimney.”

“You reckon?”  I said!

“You should just let her in.”

Fortunately when I opened the sliding door to extend daught’s invitation, she scurried away.
