On Saturdays hubs and I have coffee in the morning, sometimes with a pastry sometimes not…we are missing Pain au Chocolate although I know we can make them, but where’s the Cadbury’s chocolate?
While we were sipping our caffeine hubs suggested we go for a walk at the Minneola Nature Preserve on the Sabine River.
Today the sun was out, a change from the week of cloud, rain and very cold, so it was a welcome suggestion.
I decided to make a cheese baguette in an effort to capture an English outing. The frozen loaf did not defrost into the fresh from the oven bread we are used to across the pond… we settled for a very large, but not so tasty, deli offering from the local grocery store.
The walk was delightful though, lovely to get out and about together and enjoy a mild, windy day.
Quite safe too if you observed the signs like this one at the entrance to a bridge we were preparing to cross.
From then on every view of the wetlands became a potential Alligator Spot.
Look at this lovely bridge, we were ready to head across it when we noticed the plastic, warning ribbons fluttering in the distance,
we took the long way round not wanting to risk becoming prey for the beast.
