I pass this boat every afternoon when I’m out watering the dogs,
This community I’ve been a part of for the summer, is nautical, or at least they like to think they are.
Most are retired and some do have boats that they live on and travel in rather like the RV crowd.
Heading to the Bahamas during the winter or summering in Montana to miss the tropical storms.
One man raced the Miss Budweiser boat
Another captained a large ferry that hosted dinners and parties and grand pianos
Some were sailors at heart
Others preferred to cruise
Still others just like the tranquility of water and moored boats.
No matter why they are here, living along the canals of the Caloosahatchee River,
Every last one of them is caught in the
Turkey Creek vortex!
