The McNeny Year in a Column
We all turned a year older except Vivienne!
We became in-laws. Simon married the woman of his dreams, Lindsey, and they are embracing the entrepreneurial lifestyle with their Macaws, Walter and Lemon.
We sold our family home. After 29 years it became the proud possession of its second owners in two short weeks.
We put what was left of our belongings, after the newly weds had furnished their home, in storage and returned to England for six months. There we rendered ourselves completely homeless on the completion of the sale of our London flat.
Malia left home and sailed the Baltic and Mediterranean on a Spanish cruise ship as a performing artist.
Ian worked as an editor on the show Dallas, and free-lanced for post production companies in the Metroplex. He shot a pilot for a TV series he wrote in collaboration with his BFF.
When his sister returned from high kicking it on the high seas he let his second bedroom to her. They are living the Friends life!
Paris travelled Texas from Corpus to Sherman to Little Elm to Irving chasing babysitting jobs for a living.
We are now staying in God’s Country, as the locals describe East Texas, while we discern where the empty nest phase of our lives is taking us.
Larry has as many irons in the fire as ever ranging from film to music to stage!
Vivienne continues writing and broadcasting with daily doses of walking and yoga to keep her mind refreshed.

Well hello there! My name is Vivienne McNeny.
I am an empty nester exploring life as a Boomer…you could say I'm happily Boomering along!
As a homeschooling Mum I have finally quit the job of role model and mentor to my four children. I do what I want to do, eat when I feel like it, enjoy life with my blue eyed cowboy and clean my house once a month or so whether it needs it or not!
In true English form I write about the emergence of my true identity now that I can no longer hide behind my children as their Mum.
