Preparations for Thanksgiving…

My oldest son is in town from balmy California for the holiday with two of his friends.

Hubs and I have met them both so the pressure is off…

Except when it comes to food!

One is vegetarian and slightly lactose intolerant.

Luckily I usually have most of the produce aisle in my fridge.

The other is gluten-free.

Fortunately those living in my barn shop at the GF friendly McKroger in my kitchen.

My pantry is laden

T'Giving6

with all kinds of options from good old Wolfe Brand Chili to chia seeds and shakeology powders (courtesy of my son), from tempe and coconut oil to ancient grains flour and white bread and potatoes, from gluten free oats to sauerkraut fermenting on the bottom shelf.

Being gluten free and vegetarian is not new for my guests;

Being prepared is not new for me.

There should be plenty of raw ingredients to rustle up something when the need to rustle occurs.

And for when things get hectic with conversation I chopped fresh fruit,

T'Giving3

to go into the fragrant, homemade granola that filled our house with sweetness,

T'Giving4

and combined fresh vegetables to make a variety of soups,

T'Giving

to be smoothed into a jar to keep on hand,

T'Giving2

and whipped beans and chick peas into a hummus to please the most discerning of palates.

In my well stocked kitchen no-one should starve!

I am guessing some of the sides are going to be incredibly healthy at my Thanksgiving table this year!

Enjoy your family and thank God for all your blessings today.
