Trash Day…

We don’t have trash pickup here in Turkey Creek.
Trash is picked up for a monthly fee and a lot of the residents opt out.
The couple whose house we are looking after foregoes curbside pickup, which means we have to remember to take the rubbish with us when we go into town.
Last year it was easy enough, there was a public dumpster just across the bridge over the Caloosahatchee River in a park where families hosted birthday parties and cooked out on holidays.
Not so this year, the dumpster’s gone, which is good news for the partiers and barbecuers but not for the garbage throwers.
We have to go elsewhere.
The vultures gave us our first clue as to where the new dumping ground was,
Standing guard over the skips, they watched.
