Around Lindale

Sometimes I go with hubs to town.  It is about 20 miles away and when we get there I am always ready to turn around and head back to the pines of Hideaway.  Nothing glitzy in Tyler to keep me captivated and spending money.

There are some sights along the way though that are worth recording and on a partly cloudy day when I was in need of a break from my MacBook I had hubs take me out on a photo shoot.

I wanted to get a glimpse of what was outside the bubble we had lived in at Hideaway for the last six months.

These homes express what I find impossible to articulate.

Their pictures are able to tell the truth that adjectives may find difficult to reach for. Set back from the road they are uninvolved and I wonder how steamy they get in the summer, or how cold in the winter?

Through the lens I can capture the emotions they evoke of remoteness.  This is not a neighborhood although some ‘hood dealings could very well go on under the cover of the trees.

Daffodils dot the socially sparse places,

and blue skies add a bright spot over the above ground pool.

Trailer6

Birdsong fills the early spring air and trees prepare to burst into bloom with no help from the residents,

Trailer7

A neighborhood crime watch cautions us that we are being watched as we drive down the side streets to catch a slice of life,

Trailer8

I cannot presume that no-one lives here,

Trailer9

and my final picture before turning around summed up the feel of country living,

It showed me that this was indeed a dog’s life and one I lived only a few miles from.

As my mother used to say,

“There but for the grace of God go I.”

I am blessed by grace!
